The Uniting Church in Australia (UCA) is the largest non-government provider of community services in Australia. We achieve this through our community services arm, Uniting. This is an umbrella of more than 400 agencies, institutions, and parish missions throughout Australia. Areas of service include aged care, children, youth and family, disability, employment, emergency relief, drug and alcohol, youth homelessness and suicide.

The UCA is also prominent in social justice advocacy.  Issues addressed include the environment, the rights and dignity of asylum seekers, the treatment and care of prisoners, inadequate gambling legislation, religious intolerance, multi- and cross-cultural issues, fair employment practices and much more. A key component of our justice work is the UCA’s efforts to bring Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians together and to support the Indigenous community generally. Reconciliation, land rights and Indigenous leadership training are just some of the activities in which we are engaged.

Our social justice and community services work is the UCA’s response to the Bible’s call to care for and protect the marginalised and the vulnerable.

Below are links to some of the agencies and missions that operate within the area in which we are situated.

Uniting works alongside people of all ages in local communities across Victoria and Tasmania. Our services reach to Albury-Wodonga in the north, Mallacoota in East Gippsland, the Wimmera region in the west, and across Tasmania.

Uniting has been supporting Australians for over 100 years by providing over 770 programs and services.

Lentara supports some of the most vulnerable members of the community, providing support and access to resources that are critical for sound health, wellbeing and participation in local communities.

Lentara’s services are provided to all people irrespective of age, race, religion, language, ability, gender or sexual orientation.

Uniting ReGen (ReGen) is the leading alcohol and other drugs (AOD) treatment and education agency of Uniting Victoria and Tasmania. ReGen is a not for profit agency, which has been operating since May 1970, providing a range of AOD services to the community to assist people who may be having problems with alcohol and/or other drugs. Contact is usually via a triage worker who will help to determine the best service for you.

Kildonan supports individuals, families and communities from metropolitan Melbourne through to northern regional Victoria.  Some state-wide and national services are also available.

Kildonan is committed to safeguarding children and young people from all forms of violence, abuse, maltreatment and neglect and ensuring our staff and volunteers act to promote and protect child safety and wellbeing.

We are Christians collaborating for a world free of poverty and injustice.
Because every person matters.  Because every person is beloved by God and invited to a life that is whole and hopeful.
As an agency of the Uniting Church in Australia, we connect Australian people to God’s work in the wider world.
